Hiya Dad,

Well, the ProDeco painters are in and our new home is shaping up beautifully. We hope to be in by Spring! 💕 The parrots and other song birds will be delighted to have their feeder replenished regularly, though I wonder about overfeeding the bird population, as Acton frequent fliers are already rather well fleshed. The roofers will commence as soon as there’s some let-up in the weather. Local Londoners are developing webbed feet and gills, and foot rot is rife as damp socks and soggy footwear are de rigueur!

As always, I’m loving work and have increased my days at Active Life Podiatry to three: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Weekends are always popular and I’m really looking forward to building up my patient base during the weekdays too.

People can 👉 book here.

This Saturday, I put my teaching hat on for a dancer with forefoot pain. Her bunions have been contributing to altered loading, though they themselves aren’t directly troublesome. We’ve been working on offloading and strengthening, and the plan is going well. Dancers are great patients because they’re so motivated. I developed a tailored foot-strengthening programme for her, including intrinsic control, metatarsal stability and the works.

It felt great merging dance and podiatry and my adrenaline rush prompted a reckless grand battement into arabesque…and away from the mirror, I was marvellous!

Love you as always,

Pen xx

PS Valentine’s Day in podiatry looks like this: shaping a child’s verruca into a heart, reassuring dancers that bunions and fungal nails are manageable, and crafting orthotics that help people move comfortably again.

Also, Acton’s feathered frequent flyer!

Not roses…just real love for feet.
